Pair of Danish Art Deco Bronze Candelabra by HF Bronze, 1930s

A pair of bronze Danish Art Deco candelabra by HF (Holger Fridericias) Bronze, Denmark, 1920s or 1930s. The candelabra have a beautifully smooth patinated surface, with edges to the candle cups in a gold coloured unpatinated bronze. The decoration, formed of abstract, curling arabesques of bronze, suggests a transition from the organic line of Art Nouveau or Jugendstil. HF stands for the company name Holger Fridericias which was active in the 1920s and 1930s and part of a golden age of Danish design and master metalworkers producing high quality objects. Many gained international renown, the most famous being Georg Jensen but now Just Andersen and others are gaining in notoriety and are avidly collected. Height 14 cm x Width 18 cm x Depth 5 cm.
