GAB Bronze Jardiniere c.1930s, designed by Just Andersen

A sought after GAB Brons (GAB Bronze) jardiniere from the 1930s, beautifully patinated. The principal designers for GAB included Jacob Ängman (1876-1942) and Just Andersen (1884-1943). The Swedish firm GAB (Guldsmedsaktiebolaget or Goldsmith's Company) was originally founded in 1868. In the early twentieth century lines were produced as GAB Brons and GAB Tenn (for GAB Pewter). The bronze objects are particularly finely cast. Ancient art and archeological sources combined with modernist economy of form characterised the designs, and this jardiniere has features likely based on traditional Chinese forms.
