Jacob Ängman Swedish Grace Jar for GAB Ori 1930s

This small lidded box, tin or jar was designed by Jacob Ängman (1876-1942) for GAB (Guldsmedsaktiebolaget or Goldsmiths Company) where he was designer and artistic director until his death in 1942. He had originally joined GAB in 1907. This box is made of 'Ori' metal' (bronzed babbitt metal most likely pewter), a patented technique developed by Ängman in the 1920s. The list has an upright handle or decoration with a wreath edging, inscribed on one side 9/5/1943.  Height 5.7cm (9.1cm to the top of the handle), x Diameter 10cm.
